Today i am nearing the completion of my double page spread. I have added all my main images in the middle of the page and bordered them with red lines to make it look more professional. I have also started to type up my interview on the left hand of the page as the right hand side will contain the album reviews. Overall i am pleased with the way that the magazine is coming into production. I have learnt how to create different colour and size of text to make the magazine look better. I have also used the technique of making the drop cap of the first letter bigger as all magazines do this.

I have learnt many new skills over the past few lessons on photoshop. I have learnt how to reduce the glow of my background wallpaper by clicking on the layer and then reducing the opacity. This has enabled me to prodcue a faint glow of a spider web on my double page spread because it will contain writng on top, without this the spider web would be too dark and thus interfere with my written articles.
I have learnt how to fade out the rough edges of my pictures to give it a more profesional look and thus make it look more believeable as part of a magazine production.
Last lesson i spent my time producing my article which will be input into my double page spread. These include an exclusive interview that i have fabricated and also 3 album reviews.
I have also learnt how to resize images without making them look unrealistic by pressing ctrl and T.

I think that my production of my magazine is not keeping up with my time keeping and so at the moment i will aim to speed up with the overall production. I have finally finished the front cover and i am pleased with the overall effect. I will now move onto the production of my double page spread and the written articles within it.

Size

MoNey$
I have decided to make my front cover A4 size and my double page spread A3 size. This will enable me to produce a magazine that will fit nicely along the shelf of a newsagent.
I have chaged alot of my ideas since and have decided to have a male model on the front cover of my magazine as i came by afew problems of finding a suitable female model. I will still stick to the concept of keeping my main image to 2/3 of the front cover. I will stick to my main colours of red and black as these elements all seem to represent the ideas that my magazine bring forth.

Today i have brushed up on the magazine cover, i faded out all the rough edges to give the picture a more professinal look, this has been created succesfly and i hopt to replicate this when i come round to developing the photos for the double page spread.

Its has been quite a while since i last updated my blog but i have done so many things and have advanced far with the production of my magazine cover. After i came back from our holiday, i started taking into consideration the size of magazine covers. I have decided that i will produce my magazine to an A4 size because all my leading competitiors such as NME and EMPIRE are similar. I have started the production of my magazine cover and am pleased with the way it is currently taking shape. Pictures that i took came out very good and look professional. I am still learning how to use Adobe Photoshop but i think that i have gained many new skills such as using the lasoo, eraser tool, blusher tool and how to resize images approriatetly. I still have much more to learn but i feel confident in my abilites to produce a professional looking piece of work.

Today i have done research on double page spreads. I am currently in the process of creating a succesful layout for my magazine.

This one has a very interesting layout as it contains pictures that are relevant to each article. I hope to create something similar to this.
